Club History |
Is thought to have been formed by employees of Perth's banks. In 1907 one of its star players, Ernie Stokes, threw five goals against the visiting Canadian team- the highest number thrown by an Australian on that tour. The club disbanded after the 1909 season with the Western Mail reporting in April 1910 "Banks has gone to the wall. The maroons were always a disappointing team, and perhaps, it was better for all concerned for the present dissolution to have taken place". The article noted that several of the key players, including Stokes, would transfer to North Perth and Perth. |
